We purchased this property in December 2023. We anticipated a to start building our house in late 2024 or early 2025. However, the mortgage interest rate & inflation rate hikes during the Biden administration put us on hold as we refused to pay a rate hike that is twice the amount prior to 2020.

In early 2024 we had the lot cleared of underbrush by a local contractor. After that, I spent the next 2 years maintaining the property with mowing & keeping the debris picked up & burned.

It’s now March 2026, with the Trump administration in the White House for a year, mortgage have fallen somewhat but are still sitting at 6% plus. Biden is history. The democrats mismanagement of the economy put us on hold for 3 years.

We expect to start construction late this year in 2026.
